This is the "Jaguar Scratch" tenor with a salvaged Redwood top. This ukulele has a very mellow sound, but is not quiet like some mellow ukes are.
It got a lot of attention and compliments at the recent Orange County Ukulele festival.
The back and sides of this uke are "jaguar scratch" Honduran mahogany. The scratch marks are sort of like a quilt pattern that you would see in wood from "The Tree" but with just the vertical stripes without the horizontal ones. In fact some of the wood from "The Tree" has had this type of figure, but this wood is not from "The Tree".
Mahogany with this type of figure tends to be a little harder than most Mahogany and gives this uke a little louder sound than you might expect.

All the accents are a really cool big leaf maple burl.

The rosette is a Honduran Rosewood mosaic.
The fretboard and bridge are Gaboon ebony.

The redwood boards that this top was made from have been in high demand by custom guitar builders. The boards were cut from a 100 year old redwood stump. They are too short for construction, but perfect for guitar and ukulele tops! It is light weight, but stiff and produces a wonderful sound.
This uke is equipped with a Pepe Romero wound low G string and custom high carbon fluorocarbon C, E and A strings.
It has 14 frets to the body and 19 frets total. The nut width is a generous 1.5".

The neck is Honduran mahogany with a graphite reinforcement rod.
The headstock is Jaguar Scratch Mahogany with black Gotoh planetary tuners.
